MAKING PAPER FROM WOOD CHIPS

 

Do you know that paper is made from wood? Ya, paper that we use in our daily life is made from wood or tree. The process of making paper from wood is quite long. The process is called wood-chipping. Wood-chipping is a process used to obtain pulp and paper products from forest trees.

The wood-chipping process begins when the trees are cut down in a selected area of the forest called a coupe. Next the tops and branches of the trees are cut out and then the logs are taken to the mill. At the mill the bark of the logs is removed and the logs are taken to a chipper which cuts them into small pieces called wood chips. The wood chips are then screened to remove dirt and other impurities. At this stage they are either exported in this form or changed into pulp by chemicals and heat. The pulp is then bleached and the water content is removed.

Finally the pulp is rolled out to make paper.

However, before continuing their relationship, Asma was diagnosed APS, a syndrome that made her life in danger and could die at any time.

The plot is interesting, combined with beauty of the city of Beijing gives this movie valuable. Moreover, the film was played by famous actors and actresses like Revalina S. Temat who has experienced in the world of cinema, Morgan Oey although this is his debut in feature films, but his acting is so admirable.

Essentially, this Assalamu’alaikum Beijing film must be watched. Because it is very high quality movie and inspires any audience. This film is suitable for you who need motivation to move on.

5. Fifth, add two pinches of salt. Continue frying until the rice is hot enough.

A. Pengertian Recount Text dan Contoh

Istilah recount berasal dari bahasa Prancis conter yang memiliki dua arti yaitu menghitung ulang dan menceritakan sebuah cerita: The word count comes from the old French conter, which means “add up” or “tell a story”.(vocabulary.com). Jadi jika kamu bingung karena mendengar recount digunakan sebagai istilah bahasa Inggris dalam penghitungan ulang suara pemilu, dan juga digunakan dalam pelajaran bahasa Inggris khususnya dalam genre of text, maka kamu tidak perlu bingung lagi. Karena istilah ini memang digunakan untuk kedua makna tersebut. Lalu untuk membedakannya? cukup lihat kontek atau tema pembicaraannya.

B. Tujuan Recount text

Tujuan komunikatif dari recount text adalah untuk menceritakan pengalaman atau kejadian dan peristiwa yang terjadi pada masa lalu secara kronologis atau secara berurutan dengan tujuan untuk entertain atau menghibur pembaca atau pendengar. Dalam bahasa Inggris, tujuan recount text:

The purpose of a recount is to list and describe past experiences by retelling events in the order in which they happened (chronological order). Recounts are written to retell events with the purpose of either informing or entertaining their audience (or both)

C. Generic Structure Recount Text

1. Orientation
   Pada bagian ini, penulis memulai cerita dengan mengenalkan latar belakang informasi yang menjawab, kapan, di mana kejadian atau peristiwa itu terjadi pada masa lampau.
2. Events
   Setelah menceritakan latar belakang atau identitas pelaku, setting tempat dan waktunya, pada bagian ini barulah penulis mulai menceritakan jalannya cerita secara urut atau kronologis.
3. Reorientation
   Generic structure dari recount text yang terakhir adalah reorientation, banyak yang menjelaskan bagian ini dengan rangkuman yang berisi pengulangan bagian orientation. Tapi bagi saya, bagian ini sebenarnya adalah bagian conclusion (kesimpulan) atau penutup yang mengekspresikan pendapat pribadi penulis tentang kejadian yang telah diceritakan. Misalnya cerita tentang liburan, maka penulis akan menyimpulkan kesan tentang liburannya dengan “what an exciting holiday! I will go there again someday“.

D. Ciri - ciri Recount Text

1. Memiliki judul yang merangkum teks.
2. Karena menceritakan peristiwa yang terjadi di masa lampau, maka recount text selalu menggunakan past tense. Last week, I went to Bali island with my family.
3. Karena berurutan (kronologis) sering menggunakan kata sambung yang menghubungkan peristiwa-peristiwa dalam waktu, seperti as next, later, when, then, after, before, first.
4. Menceritakan menggambarkan peristiwa, sehingga banyak digunakan terbuat dari verb (kata kerja), dan kata keterangan (yang menggambarkan secara lebih detail  bagaimana verb (kata kerja) dilakukan).

HOLIDAY IN PASIR KENCANA BEACH

Last week my friend and I were bored after three weeks of holidays, so we rode our bikes to Pasir Kencana Beach, which is only five kilometres from where I live. When we arrived at the beach, we were surprised to see there was hardly anyone there.

After having a quick dip in the ocean, which was really cold, we realized one reason there were not many people there. It was also quite windy. After we bought some hot chips at the takeaway store nearby, we rode our bikes down the beach for a while, on the hard, damp part of the sand. We had the wind behind us and, before we knew it, we were many miles down the beach.

Before we made the long trip back, we decided to paddle our feet in the water for a while, and then sit down for a rest. While we were sitting on the beach, just chatting, it suddenly dawned on us that all the way back, we would be riding into the strong wind.

When we finally made it back home, we were both totally exhausted! But we learned some good lessons that day.

Cats also called the domestic cat or house cat (with its scientific name: Felis silvestris catus or Felis catus) is a type of carnivorous mammal of the family Felidae. The word "cat" generally refers to a "cat" that has been tamed, but can also refer to the "big cats" such as lions and tigers.

 

Cats are considered as "perfect carnivore" with teeth and particular digestive tract. The first premolar and molar teeth form a pair of fangs on each side of the mouth that works effectively as a pair of scissors to tear the meat. Although these features also exist in the Canidae or dog, but these traits are better developed in cats. Unlike other carnivores, cats eat almost non vegetable substance. Bears and dogs sometimes eat berries, roots, or honey as a supplement, while cats only eat meat, usually freshly killed prey. In captivity, cats can not adapt to a vegetarian diet because they can not synthesize all the amino acids they need from plant material; it is in contrast with domesticated dogs, which commonly are fed a mixture of meat and vegetables and sometimes it can adapt to a completely vegetarian meal.

 

Cats have mingled with human life since at least 6000 BC, from the skeleton of the cat found on the island of Cyprus. The ancient Egyptians of 3500 BC have used cats to keep away the rats or other rodents from the barn where the crops were saved.Currently, the cat is one of the most popular pet in the world. Cats that his lines are recorded officially as a cat breeds or pure breed are Persian, Siamese, Manx, and the sphinx. These kinds of cat are usually bred in official captivity animal. The number of purebred cat is only 1% of all cats in the world; the rest is a cat with mixed ancestry such as wild cats or domestic cats.

Narrative text merupakan sebuah text yang berfungsi untuk menceritakan sebuah kisah di masa lampau dan bertujuan sebagai hiburan.

Generic Structure Narrative Text

• Orientation : Yaitu berisi pegenalan cerita yang akan di angkat, pengenalan tempat dan tokoh dalam cerita.
• Complication : Yaitu berisi kisah yang terjadi pada cerita tersebut. biasanya juga ditandai dengan munculnya sebuah konflik dalam cerita.
• Resolution : Yaitu babak akhir pada cerita yang biasanya ditandai dengan selesainya sebuah konflik dalam cerita
• Coda : Pada bagian ini terdapat kesimpulan dalam cerita.

Ciri – ciri Narrative text

• Fokus pada satu tokoh atau pelaku dan biasanya individual sehingga biasanya menggunakan kata ganti seperti “I, we, she, he”.
• Paling sering menggunakan past tense baik itu simple past tense, past continuous, maupun bentuk past tense lainnya.
• Terkadang menggunakan dialog untuk mengajak pembaca berimajinasi sehingga ceritanya terlihat lebih jelas dan nyata.
• Karena berurutan (kronologis), maka biasanya juga menggunakan kata sambung (conjunction) agar cerita terlihat runtut atau urut.

Once upon a time, there were two close friends who were walking through the forest together. They knew that anything dangerous can happen any time in the forest. So they promised each other that they would always be together in any case of danger.

 

Suddenly, they saw a large bear getting closer toward them. One of them climbed a nearby tree at once. But unfortunately the other one did not know how to climb up the tree. So being led by his common sense, he lay down on the ground breathless and pretended to be a dead man.

 

The bear came near the one who was lying on the ground. It smelt in his ears, and slowly left the place because the bears do not want to touch the dead creatures. After that, the friend on the tree came down and asked his friend that was on the ground, "Friend, what did the bear whisper into your ears?" The other friend replied, "Just now the bear advised me not to believe a false friend."

Teks Deskriptif yaitu teks yang menjelaskan gambaran seseorang atau benda. Tujuannya adalah untuk menggambarkan atau mengungkapkan orang, tempat atau benda tertentu. 

Bisa dikatakan juga bahwa Descriptive text adalah teks yang menjelaskan tentang seperti apakah orang atau benda yang dideskripsikan, baik bentuknya, sifat-sifatnya, jumlahnya dan lain-lain.

Struktur Descriptive Text (generic structure) adalah :

1. Identification (identifikasi) adalah pendahuluan , berupa gambaran umum tentang suatu topik.

2.Description (deskripsi) adalah berisi ciri-ciri khusus yang dimiliki benda, tempat, atau orang yang dideskripsikan.

 

Ciri-ciri Descriptive Text :

- Menggunakan simple present tense 

- Menggunakan attribute verb, seperti be (am, is, are) 

- Hanya fokus pada satu objek tersebut.

   Zedva is my beautiful gray Persian cat. He walks with pride and grace, performing a dance of disdain as he slowly lifts and lowers each paw with the delicacy of a ballet dancer. His pride, however, does not extend to his appearance, for he spends most of his time indoors watching television and growing fat.

   Zedva is as finicky about visitors as he is about what he eats, befriending some and repelling others.    After my guests have fled, I look at the old fleabag snoozing and smiling to himself in front of  the television set, and I have to forgive him for his obnoxious, but endearing, habits.
